Tonight as the older kids were getting ready for bed, I was watching Jared as he went about doing what 3 year olds do best- discover the world around them. I was thinking, with a little sadness, that this little boy that I enjoy being with right now will someday grow up. These words were exchanged-
Mom (to Jared)- You're so cute... I don't want you to grow up.
Jared- But I want to grow up!
Mom- (a small sigh and lost in thought)
Jared- (sigh) Fine, I'll stay small.
If only that were possible. I just thought it was so sweet that he offered to stay small to make me happy. As if he could control his destiny!

How cute! I feel the same way with little Bryson. Thank goodness for camera's and video camera's that let us capture our favorite moments of them when they are little so we have a way to remember them when they are so cute and small--but it's still not as good at the real thing.
